IN CAB INSPECTION
Start truck to begin building air pressure.
Safety Belt – securely mounted, no cuts, not frayed, adjusts, and latches properly.
Tug Test – Parking brake check: Place the vehicle in gear, push in the red brake valve, let the clutch out far enough to feel the transmission engage and the brake to hold.
Repeat the steps as you did only now use the yellow brake valve. Then pull trolley brake, release both valves put in gear and tug as above.
MUST BE ONE IN OREDER. ANY STEPS MISSED IS AN AUTOMATIC FAILURE
4-STEP BRAKE TEST
Step 1 – Place in 1st gear and turn the engine off, push in both brake valves to release the brakes, allow air pressure to stabilize, next firmly apply the foot brake and hold to make sure there is no more than 4-psi drop in air pressure for a combination vehicle in 60 seconds and 3 psi in straight truck in 60 seconds.
Step 2 – With the key in the on position “fan” or pump down” de brakes to see when the low air warning light comes on (no less than 60 psi).
Step 3 – Turn the key off, fan the brakes again until the air pressure drops far enough for the air valves to pop out between 20 and 40 psi.
Step 4 – Start your truck to build air pressure. After it has started and oil pressure has started to build, say “the noise you are hearing is the low air pressure warning buzzer, both the buzzer and the light will cancel out no less than 60 psi.”
While pressure is building you can now finish in-cab inspection.
Oil Gauge – (make sure it comes up to normal operation range)
Amp meter and or Voltmeter gauge – (make sure it is charging; between 12 and 14 volts).
Air horn/City horn – (check that air horn and/or electric horns are working).
Passenger window & mirror – (properly working and adjusted, and clean).
Windshield – (should be clean/no illegal stickers/no cracks or obstructions to the glass).
Lighting indicators L,R. 4 ways, high beam, (test that dash indicators are working when corresponding lights are on).
Temperature gauge – (make sure it is in a safe operating range).
Heater/Defroster – (test that the heater and defroster are working).
Steering Wheel–(no more than 2 inches or 10% play on a 20 inch wheel also not broken).
Clutch Free Play – (no more than 2 inches).
Shifter Free Play – (not in a bind).

Oil Gauge – (make sure it comes up to normal operation range)
Amp meter and or Voltmeter gauge – (make sure it is charging; between 12 and 14 volts).
Air horn/City horn – (check that air horn and/or electric horns are working).
Passenger window & mirror – (properly working and adjusted, and clean).
Windshield – (should be clean/no illegal stickers/no cracks or obstructions to the glass).
Lighting indicators L,R. 4 ways, high beam, (test that dash indicators are working when corresponding lights are on).
Temperature gauge – (make sure it is in a safe operating range).
Heater/Defroster – (test that the heater and defroster are working).
Steering Wheel–(no more than 2 inches or 10% play on a 20 inch wheel also not broken).
Clutch Free Play – (no more than 2 inches).
Shifter Free Play – (not in a bind).
