Accept the warning message and browse to the C:\Windows\System32 and search in this directory these files:
Dot4.sys
Dot4prt.sys
Dot4usb.sys
Dot4scans.usb
If they are present move them to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers
and restart installation.
This driver is included in Win2k and XP, and is installed the first time you connect a usb printer, apparently.
You may need to be logged on as administrator before windows can install it, also you might need at least service pack 1 or 2, both of which have USB bugfixes.
You may get this problem if you install the printer on the parallel port (LPT1 by mistake, or if you plug in the printer before installing the driver software for some HP printers.
Try installing the printer software before connecting it.
