    Практический опыт получения CDL A

    Я приехал в США чуть более года назад. (штат Северная Каролина потому и информация естественно относится к законам этого штата). По приезду на руках была только виза В2. Решил купить себе машину для комфортного передвижения по стране. С покупкой возникли проблемы, так как ни одна страховая (в которые я обратился) не давала страховку по паспорту РФ. Одна согласилась, но то было в районе стоимости моего авто. [IMG]http://www.**********.us/images/smilies/main/shok.gif[/IMG] Таким образом я купил машину на имя зятя, оплачивая свою страховку в районе 120$.
    При попытке получить DL, я был (вежливо!) послан в сторону правительства, для получения SSN. SSN правительство мне давать не хотела, так как не нашло для этого каких либо оснований. (далее прошло несколько месяцев я убедил себя и правительство, что должен остаться в стране легально и надолго, но это не относится к теме данной ветки форума). На вопрос в DMV, как я могу ездить без DL, мне ответили, что пока я в легальном статусе, я могу использовать Российские права, но лучше не попадаться полиции, т.к. многие этого не знают и могут запросто направить меня в ближайший суд для выяснения обстоятельств.(скорей всего в наручниках).

    Получив SSN,EAC, GC я помчался сдавать на DL. (Для DL было достаточно SSN, но у меня по времени так совпало, что я получил все практически в одно время). К тесту я готовился пару дней (полистал хэндбук и потренировавшись на пробном тесте на сайте DMV) и сдавал его на русском языке.
    Сложного там не было ничего, проверка зрения у инспектора за столом и знание названия нескольких дорожных знаков, затем тест из 25 вопросов на компьютере, и роуд тест 15 минут езды в районе DMV.

    Еще раз подумав о дальнейшей судьбе и выборе профессии, и перечитав сей форум в 10-ый раз, я остановился на профессии (и судьбе[IMG]http://www.**********.us/images/smilies/main/smile.gif[/IMG]) тракдрайвера. $5 тыщ на школу я у себя не обнаружил, пошарив по карманам не обнаружил даже $1,5. Обложился справочным материалом, найдя очень хороший тестер на одном из сайтов, приступил к изучению мат части. Незнакомые слова записывал на стикеры, которые клеил над столом, так что через две недели занятий вся стена была напрочь обклеена цветными бумажками.
    Через две недели я отправился в DMV, предъявил свои DL и SSN, заплатил $30, за прохождение теста, состоящего из 3-х частей, и .... успешно провалил первый тест ( по большей части из за того, что нервничал и торопился, нажимал не туда куда собственно хотел[IMG]http://www.**********.us/images/smilies/main/shok.gif[/IMG], хотя время на экзамен давали неограниченно.
    Нисколько не расстроившись, получив бесценный опыт, отправился домой для изучения второй части теста и повторения первой. На следующий день, провалил снова первый тест, но вторую часть сдал очень легко и быстро, т.к. сильно захотел в туалет, мотивация так сказать.
    В третий день меня уже встречали как своего[IMG]http://www.**********.us/images/smilies/main/flowers.gif[/IMG], я даже не сидел час в очереди как в первые дни, быстро сдал 2 теста и поехал получать мед карту для получения Permit. Заплатил за медкомиссию $ 115, пройдя тест на наркотики и ответив на пару вопросов доктора, я получил справку - "годен" и вернулся в DMV, где меня сфоткали на СL Permit, (что то типа предварительные СDL), взяли еще $15 за новые документы, 3 раза повторили, что я не могу пока ездить один и отпустили выдав бумажные СL Permit (пластик придет по почте).
    Сейчас осталось пройти 2 скил теста и заняться поиском работы.
    Вот такая история, которая еще только началась, на пути становления юриста тракдрайвером.

    еще раз, в кратце:
    1. получаем SSN (карточка соц страхования).Её, документ с фотографией (паспорт, русские права), документ подтверждающий адрес вашего проживания (договор из банка или письмо из SS) несем в "ГАИ"
    2. сдаем на DL (обычные права для руления на легковых авто) $8 я заплатил
    3. учим мат часть по CDL (книжка в каждом DMV, (ГАИ), бесплатно, + масса материала и тестов в инете
    4. сдаем 3 теста в DMV, $30
    5. проходим медкомиссию у аттестованного доктора, получаем справку (если здоров), несем её в "ГАИ" $115
    6. получаем перминт (временные права, без права самостоятельного вождения, только для обучения езде, сдачи вождения и предварительного тест осмотра авто) $15
    7. ищем, кто бы мог подготовить вас к сдаче последних 2-х тестов (п.6) -друзья, знакомые или любая автошкола
    8. сдаем 2 скил теста, получаем бумажку, несем обратно в ГАИ, снова вас фоткают и выдают CDL.

    Пара советов по подготовке к экзаменам, решившим самостоятельно (без школы) сдать на CDL. много вопросов в личку, а я, почему то, не могу отправить ответы.

    1. Я скачал хэндбук с официального сайта DMV своего штата. Выбрал там три, интересующих меня раздела (General Knowledge Practice, CDL Air Brakes, CDL Combination). Это обязательный минимум для получения CDL A. Если Вам нужен другой класс СDL, плюсом берете дополнительные разделы. О том какой Вам класс нужен определяем самостоятельно с помощью того же хэндбука или сайта DMV.
    2. Я перевел все три раздела с помощью PROMT (можно и с помощью Gogle, разница в переводе небольшая, и там и там ни черта не понятно[IMG]http://www.**********.us/images/smilies/main/smile.gif[/IMG]). Но общий смысл все же уловить не трудно. В связи с отсутствием у меня технического образования и большого опыта работы на грузовых авто и что бы понять, о чем идет речь, я тщательно изучал практически каждый вопрос в русскоязычных материалах на просторах интернета (дай бог ему долгой жизни), звонил отцу в Россию (он дальнобой со стажем), звонил местным друзьям тракдрайверам. В принципе, этого всего можно и не делать. Можно воспользоваться методикой некоторых экспресс школ, в которых Вас садят за комп, и вы в течении 2-3 недель тупо заучиваете вопросы и ответы в тестах (мне, по крайней мере рассказывали несколько человек кто так обучался). но так как я это делал не для "корочек", а для себя, мне было действительно важно разобраться во всех деталях. Да и вопросы в DMV не совпадают с тестовыми по форме их изложения.

    3. Очень много для непосвященных (таких как я) сленговых слов, которые, например, переводчики переводят как "радостные руки" и тому подобное, вот и иди догадайся, если не разобрался досконально, что это наконечники на воздушных шлангах. Все непонятные мне слова и выражения я выписывал на карточки и расклеивал на стене (о чем я уже писал), очень помогло в запоминании. Кроме того, для своего понимания например, как устроены воздушные тормоза, я не поленился и посмотрел документальный фильм лохматых годов про "новейшую" тормозную систему КАМАЗ (по моему 1975года кино). А про принцип работы ,ретардера прочитал целую научную статью, о чем ничуть не жалею.

    4. Как не однократно уже писали на этом форуме и с чем я полностью согласен - не пытайтесь обмануть самого себя ища русские школы и изучая мат часть на русском. Сдавать все экзамены всё равно придется на английском, общаться с дорожными службами на английском и работать в конце концов в англоязычной стране. Потратите чуть больше времени сейчас, заодно и инглишь подтяните. (это я всё про себя).

    5. Очень быстро мозг закипает и перестает воспринимать информацию через 2-3 часа чтения на трудном для понимания языке. Я по опыту учебных заведений, сделал себе учебный план и график занятий с переменами (перекурами) и даже каникулами (1день в неделю просто не подходил к "парте").
    6. Очень помог сайт с тестами (лучший который я нашел из множества, позволяющий проходить тест на время, проходить тест без ограничения времени, и главное, с указанием ссылок на хэндбук по каждому вопросу) Если модераторы не возражают - truckercountry.com/cdl-practice-tests

    5. После успешной сдачи тестов и получения пермита, при подготовке к Pre-Trip Inspection Practice Tests найдите пару тройку качественных роликов про это я ютубе, визуализация закрепляется сильнее.

    Понимаю, что данный опус покажется бывалым тракдрайверам наивным и примитивным, что же, сильно не пинайте, может какому нить бывшему химику или учителю истории он поможет, как когда то мне помогли статьи местных сторожил определиться в дальнейшем направлении движения.

    Pre-Trip Inspection

    My pre-trip begins as I approach the vehicle. I am looking for leaks, leaning one way or the other (which may indicate a low tire or bad suspension).
    Hint: Start at the bottom and work your way up.
    License plate – Secure, clean and up to date.
    Bumper – Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Grill – Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and free of debris.
    Headlights - Secure, not cracked, and clean.
    Fender mirrors - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and clean (grab mirrors on both sides).
    Marker lights – (at top of tractor) Secure, not cracked, all present and not broken.

    Open the hood
    ****Passenger side****.
    Oil dipstick – Must be at safe operating level.
    Oil fill tube - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and does not leak.
    Turbo - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.
    Alternator - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Alternator wires – Secure, (BBCCFTC) not burnt, broke, cut, cracked, frayed, taped or corroded.
    Alternator belts – Secure, not cut, broke, frayed, no more than 1/2” play and none missing.
    Water pump - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.
    Radiator & radiator hoses - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking. Clamps are secure and tight.
    Antifreeze level – If equipped with a sight glass, check to make sure it is at a safe operating level. If not – remove radiator cap (when fluid is cold) and check for safe operating level.
    Fan shroud - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Fan blades - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and none missing.
    Frame – Secure, not cracked, bent or broken, and no man-made welds.

    Drivers side
    Water pump - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.
    Fan blade belts - Secure, not cut, broke, frayed, no more than 1/2” play and none missing.
    Power steering reservoir - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking. Fluid is at proper level.
    Air compressor and air lines - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.
    Starter - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. Wires are not (BBCCFTC) not burnt, broke, cut, cracked, frayed, taped or corroded.
    Frame – Secure, not cracked, bent or broken, and no man-made welds.






    Steering
    Steering wheel shaft - Secure, straight, not cracked, bent or broken.
    U-joints - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken, and properly greased.
    Steering gear box - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.
    Pittman arm, drag link, steering knuckle, and tie rod – Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.

    Front Suspension
    Spring hangers - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Springs - Secure, straight, no more than 25% cracked or broken, none missing.
    U-bolts and saddle – Secured to axle, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Shocks - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.

    Brakes
    Air lines to brake chamber – Secure to frame and brake chamber, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.
    Brake chamber and clamp - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking, and all bolts are tight.
    Push rod slack adjuster – Secure with a pin and cotter pin, not cracked, bent or broken. No more than I” of play in slack adjuster.
    S-cam shaft to s-cam roller - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Brake shoes - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. No less than ¼” of wear left on pads. Free of oil, grease, and debris.
    Brake drum - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. Is round, no excessive wear, no man made welds. Free of oil, grease, and debris.

    Steer tires
    Same size, same type. Cannot be recapped or regrooved. Tread depth should be no less than 4/32” in all major grooves. Should not have any tread separation, cuts, cupping or bulging anywhere on tire.
    Valve stem - Secure, straight, not cracked, bent, broken or leaking. All valve caps are present and tight. Tire pressure should be between 100 – 110 PSI checked cold and with a tire gauge only.

    Rim
    Rim - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken, is round and no man-made welds
    Lug nuts – Secure, none missing, and appear to be tight. On aluminum rims look for white powder, on steel rims look for rust, which would indicate a loose lug nut. If loose, tighten with a lug wrench.
    Hub - Secure, not cracked, broken or leaking. All bolts are present and appear to be tight. If there is a sight glass make sure the oil is at its proper level. Otherwise, open cap and make sure there is at least 1” of 90 weight gear lube.







    Fuel tank
    Secure to frame, with no less than 2 metal bands with rubber backing to prevent against excessive wear and corrosion. It is not cracked, broken or leaking.
    Fuel cap – Secure, with a soft pliable rubber seal, not cracked, bent, broken or leaking.
    Steps - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. No sign of excessive wear, free of oil, grease, and debris.
    Windshield washer reservoir - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking. Fluid is at proper level.

    Drive Shafts
    Secure, straight, not cracked, bent or broken.
    U-joints - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken, and properly greased.

    Frame
    Secure, not cracked, bent or broken, and no man-made welds. Air tank and relay valve – secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.

    Catwalk and steps
    Secure, straight, not cracked, bent or broken. All bolts are present and tight, no excessive wear, free of oil, grease, and debris.

    Battery box
    Secure, straight, not cracked, bent or broken. No excessive wear, free of oil, grease, and debris.
    Batteries - Secure, not cracked, broken or leaking. All wires and connectors are not (BBCCFTC) not burnt, broke, cut, cracked, frayed, taped or corroded. Batteries that are not maintenance free must be checked by removing caps and checking fluid level.

    Air and electrical lines (point to or grab while explaining).
    Air lines – Properly hung, not dragging on catwalk. Secure to tractor, not cut, cracked, bent, broken or leaking.
    Glad hands – Secure to trailer in the locked position. Not cracked, bent, broken or leaking.
    Seals – Soft pliable rubber grommets. Not cut, cracked, broken or leaking.
    Electrical line – Secure to tractor and trailer with 7 pins, 7 receivers with safety latch in position. They are not (BBCCFTC) not burnt, broke, cut, cracked, frayed, taped or corroded.

    Suspension – drive tires
    Spring hangers – Secure to frame, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Springs - Secure, straight, no more than 25% cracked or broken, none missing.
    U-bolts and saddle – Secured to axle, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Shocks - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.

    5th wheel – Secure to platform, not cracked, bent or broken, no man-made welds. Properly greased. No light between 5th wheel and trailer apron.
    Trailer apron – Secured to trailer, not cracked, bent or broken.
    King pin - Secured to apron, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Locking jaw – Secured around king pin shank, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Locking arm - Secured in locked position, not cracked, bent or broken.

    Mud flaps
    Secure, not broken or missing. Are at proper height








    Trailer (driver’s side)
    Landing gear & braces – Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Landing gear pads - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. Free of debris and in the up position. Handle is secured in the stowed position.
    D.O.T. reflective tape – Secure and clean. Not excessively worn.
    Cross members - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken and none missing. No more than 1 rivet or bolt missing per cross member. If more than 1 missing it indicates a weak floor.

    1st trailer axle suspension
    Rocker arm hanger - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Rocker arm - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Shocks - Secure, not cracked, bent, broken or leaking.
    Air bags - Secure, not cracked, bent, broken or leaking.

    Tandem
    Tandem slide rail - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. Holes are round, not excessively worn. Pin is secure in hole, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Locking handle – Secured in locked position, not cracked, bent or broken.

    Brakes – 1st trailer axle
    Air lines and relay valves - Secure, not cracked, bent, broken, or leaking. Air lines must be at least 18” off the ground.
    Air lines to brake chamber – Secure to frame and brake chamber, not cracked, bent or broken and not leaking.
    Brake chamber and clamp - Secure, not cracked, bent, broken or leaking, and all bolts are present and tight.
    Push rod slack adjuster – Secure with a pin and cotter pin, not cracked, bent or broken. No more than I” of play in slack adjuster.
    S-cam shaft to s-cam roller - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Brake shoes - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. No less than ¼” of wear left on pads. Free of oil, grease, and debris.

    D.O.T. reflective tape – Secure and clean. Not excessively worn.
    License plate - Secure, clean, up to date.
    License plate light - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    All tail lights - Secure, not cracked, or broken. Are red in color.
    Doors and door hinges - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. All bolts are present and tight.
    Locking handle and rods - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken.
    Locking latch – Secured in the locked position. Not cracked, bent or broken.
    Door seals – Secure and seal properly.
    Header board – secure and not excessively damaged.





    Trailer (passenger side)
    Same – Except for:
    Exhaust - Secure, not cracked, bent, broken or leaking..
    Bulkhead - Secure and not excessively damaged.

    ****Close and latch hood****
    Lights (check in this order)
    No key:
    Low beams and running lights turned on – Walk around truck and trailer and confirm all are in working order. This includes the license plate light.
    Turn signals – Signal each direction, and walk around truck and trailer and confirm all are in working order.
    Hazards (4 way) – Turn on hazards and walk around truck and trailer and confirm all are in working order.
    Brake lights – Ask examiner to watch brake lights. Watch for confirmation in side mirror that they worked.
    Key in on position (don’t start)
    High beams – Turn on and walk around truck and trailer and confirm all are in working order.

    In cab inspection
    10lb ABC fire extinguisher - Fully charged, secured inside cab.
    Red reflective triangles – 3 triangles, not cracked, bent, broken, secured inside cab.
    Replacement fuses – 1 fuse for every major fuse in truck, unless the truck is equipped with circuit breakers.
    Safety belt – Secured, not cut, frayed or broken. In good working order and latches properly.
    Dashboard – Clean, and free of debris.
    Windshield - Secure, not cracked or broken. No more than a 1” crack is permitted. Clean and free of debris.
    Windshield seal - Secure, not cracked or broken and not leaking.
    Wiper arms - Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. Work properly (demonstrate this) and free of debris.
    Wiper blades – Secure, not excessively worn, and in contact with windshield.
    Windshield washer – Works properly (demonstrate this).
    Mirrors – Secure, not cracked, bent or broken. Clean and properly adjusted for ME.
    Doors and door latches - Secure, not bent or broken. Not excessively worn and latches properly.
    Door seal - Secure, not cut, cracked, bent or broken and does not leak.
    Steering wheel – Secured to steering column. Not cut, cracked, bent or broken. No more than 10 degrees or 2” of free play in a 20” steering wheel
    Foot pedals – Properly grooved, free of grease, oil, and debris. Free of obstructions. Clutch must have 1” – 2” of free play and travels to the floor with no obstruction.
    Horns (city and air) – Work properly (demonstrate this).
    Gear shifter - Secure, straight, not cracked, bent or broken. Range selector (t-bar) works properly (demonstrate this).
    ****you may now start the truck****
    Gauges – Work properly (point to each gauge, explain what it is and show that it is illuminated.)
    Heater, defroster, and blower – Work properly (demonstrate this.)



    Brake check
    Tractor parking brake – Yellow knob out, red knob in. Put truck in low gear and tug.
    Trailer parking brake - Red knob out, yellow knob in. Put truck in low gear and tug.
    Tractor and trailer service brakes – Drive 3 – 5 mph, apply foot brake without touching the steering wheel. If it pulls to one side or the other, it would indicate a possible brake adjustment, tire, or suspension problem, and it would need to be serviced.

    Air down
    ****Shut off tractor & pull key out****
    Chock the wheels.
    Get back in cab.
    Release brakes (red and yellow knobs in)
    After initial air loss of 10 – 15 psi, you should lose no more than 3 psi per minute.
    Apply pressure to foot service brake. After initial loss of 10 – 15 psi, you should lose no more than 4 psi per minute.

    ****key in on position (don’t start tractor)****
    Check warning light and buzzer by fanning down the foot service brake. When pressure reaches 60 psi, a warning light and buzzer should come on indicating that you are losing air.
    ****Turn key off****
    Continue to fan brakes down to 20 – 40 psi where both knobs should pop out indicating that you are out of air and your spring brakes are set (red knob pops out first so you can maintain control of the tractor).
    Air recovery
    ****Start tractor****
    Compressor should recover 10 – 15 psi per minute at 1000 rpm.
    Between 90 -100 psi is the cut in.
    Between 120 – 125 psi is the cut out.
    If the air compressor continues to run past 125 psi the emergency relief valve will pop off at 150 psi to protect the air system.

    Черт, мне этот "претрип" и читать то страшно!Ну вышел из трака, почесал ... Почесал короче. Попинал колеса, лампочки проверил, под трак заглянул, не отвалилось ли чего, ну капот поднял, если погода хорошая....Шучу конечно, но я его этим самым почесанным местом чую! Иной раз полезешь куда нибудь и зачем не знаешь, глядь вот и проблема! Так что лучше не лазить!

      Ну хорошо когда начесаные места как индикатор работают, но это же их сколько лет тренировать нужно. А таким как я, с пермитом на руках и без CDL, чесать пока придется затылок и заучивать притрип для сдачи.

        Да не ребята, это я просто теорию и практику сравниваю, а учить конечно нужно, лишних знаний не бывает и такой вот "книжный" претрип, может однажды спасти твою... Ну вообщем то место, которое ты сегодня чесать отказываешься.

          Здраствуйте!У меня такой вопрос При сдаче теории на CDL имеем три попытки,если допустим сдал только одну дисциплину,ну скажем Air Brakes при следующей попытке остаются две дисциплины или все нужно начинать сначала?И следующий вопрос -DL который на легковой транспорт не приостанавливается во время сдачи на пермит?И влияют ли неудачные попытки на рекорд?Спасибо всем ответившим

            Что сдал, то сдал, повторять не нужно. К обычному DL это никакого отношения не имеет, на рекорд не влияет.

              Я имел ввиду с трех попыток смог сдать только Air Brakes,при следующих трех попытках учитывается сданный Air Brakes?

                    Pre-Trip Inspection. Tractor Trailer


                    CHECK OUTSIDE IN FRONT OF YOUR VEHICLE:

                    1. Clearance lights, headlights, signal lights: all body lights are clean, not broken and working properly, have proper color.
                    2. Windshield: no cracking, no damage.
                    3. Hood: secure
                    4. Grill: secure
                    5. Bumper: secure
                    6. Plate number: secure
                    7. Inspection: registration up to date
                    8. Mirrors: secure, no damage
                    9. Under body: clean, no leaks oil or antifreeze.



                    CHECK RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR VEHICLE:

                    1. Front tire: not recapped
                    a. Tread depth not less 4/32
                    b. Rim: no dents, no welding, no damage
                    c. Nuts: no missing, no loosing, no rust
                    2. Suspension:
                    a. Leaf springs: no missing, no cracked, no shifted.
                    b. Shock absorber: no leaks
                    c. Slack adjuster: no more then one inch play
                    d. Air hoes: no damage.
                    3. Door: working properly
                    4. Steps: secure
                    5. Fuel compartment: Gas cap – secure, no leaks.
                    6. Fuel tank: secure






                    CHECK REAR SIDE OF YOUR VEHICLE:

                    1. Muffler: secure.
                    2. Window: no cracked
                    3. Red – Air Emergency, Blue – Air service, Black – Electrical lines
                    4. Air and Electric lines: secured with enough slack for turns.
                    5. Rear tires: Good condition, alike no touching, no rocks between tires.
                    a. Tread depth: 2/32
                    b. Rims: no dents, no damage
                    c. Nuts: no missing, no loosing, no rust.
                    d. Bearing seals: no leaks.
                    6. Rear suspension:
                    a. Leaf spring: no missing, no cracked, no shifted.
                    7. Clearance lights, breaking lights, turn signals: not broken and working properly.
                    8. Plate number: secure.


                    CHECK MOUNTING:

                    1. Fifth wheel: no space between the Fifth wheel and the trailer.
                    2. Fifth wheel JAWS have closed around the shank of the kingpin.

                    CHECK TRAILER:

                    1. Trailer: no damage, DOT stickers properly placed
                    2. Landing dear: Fully raised
                    3. Crank handle: secure
                    4. Trailer tires: Good condition, alike no touching, no rocks between tires
                    a. Cord: Ok
                    b. Tread depth not less then 2/32
                    c. Rims: no dents
                    d. Nuts: no missing, no loosing, no rust
                    e. Bearing seals: no leaks
                    5. Trailer suspension:
                    a. Leaf spring: no missing no cracked, no shifted
                    6. Trailer gates: secure
                    7. Clearance lights turn signals, brakes lights: not broken and working properly.
                    8. Bumper: secure
                    9. Plate number: secure

                    Ask examiner to help you check: a. Left turn signal; b. Right turn signal; c. Brake lights; e. Brake lights; d. Hazard lights (High beams, Low beams).



                    Air Brakes Tests
                    Put ignition in on position. Engine doesn’t work
                    System fully charged 120 PSI
                    1. AIR LEAK TEST: Push in RED knob and YELLOW knob. Hold down brake pedal for one minute. Say: “I don’t lose more then 4 pounds per one minute. No leaks”.
                    2. Test LOW AIR PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM: Pump brake pedal until it’s BUZZ and signal Red LIGHT is on, say: “Warning system is working, when air pressure around 60 PSI”.
                    3. SPRING EMERGENCY BRAKE: Pump brake pedal until both knobs pops out automatically, when air pressure below 45 PSI.
                    4. AIR BILD UP RATE: Start engine and raise engine at 1.200RPM. Pressure should build to 120-125 PSI.

                    CHECK DRIVESRS COMPARTMENT: Heaters, Defrosters, Wipers, Highway and City horns are working.
                    CHECK ALL GAUGES: Temperature, Oil pressure, Volts, Tachometer, Fuel tank, Speedometer, Supply pressure, Application pressure, Battery charges.
                    CHECK STEERING WHEEL: no more 2 inch play.
                    CHECK EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT: Fire extinguisher, 3 Reflective triangles and Spare electrical fuses.
                    5. TRACTOR PARKING BRAKE: With the engine running, push in trailer brake (RED KNOB). Shift into low gear (1st gear) and press gas pedal, to test that the parking brakes hold. Vehicle should not move. Parking brake tractor is working.
                    6. TRAILER PARKING BRAKE: Push in tractor brake (YELLOW KNOB). Shift into low gear and press gas pedal, to test that the trailer parking brake hold. Vehicle should not move. Parking brake trailer is working.
                    7. HAND VALVE: Pull hand valve. Release both knobs, Shift into low gear and press gas pedal, to test hand valve hold. Vehicle should not move. Hand valve is working.
                    AFTER TEST #7 BUILD UP AIR PRESSURE TO 120 PSI.

                    8. 50 FT SERVICE BRAKE: After pulling away from curb, whiting the fest fifty feet, press the service brake gently and come to a complete stop. Service brake working.
                    I am ready to go.

                    What to do if…
                    1. You come to a railroad crossing. Say, when I approaching a railroad crossing, I must put on my hazard lights, I must completely full stop from 15 to 50 feet before the crossing, open my window, so than I can listen and look for oncoming train.
                    2. You come to a school crossing sigh. Say, straight ahead school zone, I must be careful, slow down my speed limit 15 MPH.
                    3. You come to a bridge. Say, I am approaching, over pass my vehicle weight about 64.000 lb. I don’t see any overweight sight, I can proceed.
                    4. You approach an underpass. Say, I am approaching an underpass. My vehicle is 12 feet 6 inches tall, the underpass is …ft high. I have enough room to proceed, if the underpass does not have a posted height, just say, I believe I have enough room.

                      Сегодня получил первый трип NC-SC-NC. всего проехал около 150 майлов с моим ментером, очень замечательный человек. Готовит меня по ускоренной программе. Ощущения после поездки, как будь то я этот трейлер на себе тащил в оба конца, с одной стороны, а с другой как будь то в космос слетал, тяжело, но приятно. Очень отчетливо понял, что деньги тракеры зарабатывают кровью и потом.
