Dan Gibson - звуки природы

Dan Gibson, автор этих сборников, занимался сбором звуков с разных географических точек земного шара для своей компании Dan Gibson Productions Ltd., основанной в 1946 году и выпускавшей документальные фильмы и сериалы о дикой природе. В 70ых годах Dan запустил новый проект под названием "Solitudes" (дословно - "безлюдные места"). Это были сборники природных звуков из его обширной библиотеки, постепенно завоевавшие популярность в Америке. Продолжая путешествия по отдаленным уголкам материка, он выпускал все новые и новые альбомы, создавая различные тематические программы и выстраивая целые повествования. В 1986 году к нему присоеденился сын Gordon и после выпуска 12 альбомов, состоявших из одних естественных звуков, они стали добавлять туда музыку. В 90-ых годах такие диски нашли еще одно применение - в качестве терапевтического, расслабляющего средства и стали активно использоваться в больницах, тюрьмах и школах.
Dan Gibson продолжал дело до самой смерти в 2006 году и выпустил более 70 альбомов.
