Хм, а я думал приглашение пишется на того человека, которого приглашают. А так получается, что американец вымаливает у консула визу для своего русского (белорусского, украинского...) друга.
На сайте посольства написано, что пригласительное письмо пишется в произвольной форме, что естественно не запрещает писать приглашение на консула, но мне кажется, что это будет выглядеть как вымаливание визы.
P.S. Кстати, а где Вы взяли этот пример приглашения? Можете ссылочку кинуть?
